CHC30208 - Certificate III in Aged Care

The Certificate III in Aged Care can lead to a career in the fields of community based, Aged Care Facilities, government and welfare agencies. The Certificate III in Aged Care covers workers who work primarily in residential facilities under direct supervision within defined guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related directly to the maintenance of an individual’s personal care and /or other activities of living. Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history, and to work with local communities in the provision of services.

Entry Requirements

There are no special entry requirements for this qualification however it is recommended students are 18 years of age and have a minimum sound level in English and Maths. Students are required to have the ability to read and write simple documents and collect basic numeral data. You must also undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in this field. A senior First Aid Certificate is strongly recommended.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

Qualification Requirements

To achieve a Certificate III in Aged Care, students must complete fourteen units for this qualification, comprising:

Assessment

The experienced ABRA QLD Training Team adopts a supportive, flexible and holistic approach in assessing competence against the units for each of the qualifications on our scope. All learners with ABRA QLD are offered the opportunity for recognition of pre-existing skills, knowledge and experience (RPL) towards their qualification upon enrolment.

Our assessment strategies cover a range of methods that may include written question and answers, reports, group activities, practical work, observation and discussion. Some courses require successful completion of a Vocational Placement as part of the assessment process.

The Certificate III in Aged Care will enable students to establish a career path to Certificate IV Aged Care and also to higher industry roles.

Delivery
