CHC30708 - Certificate III in Children's Services

The Certificate III in Children’s Services can lead to a career as a child care worker in the fields of centre based, outside school hours and family day care or related services. The Certificate III in Children’s Services provides entry levels skills or individuals wishing to find employment in the industry and basic training for Child Care workers to extend their skills by learning how to provide appropriate care, administration support and maintain a safe environment. It will also act to formalise your existing knowledge or skills.

Entry Requirements

There are no special entry requirements for this qualification however it is recommended students are 17 years of age and have a minimum sound level in English and Maths. Students are required to have the ability to read and write simple documents and collect basic numeral data. You must also undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in Childcare.

Assessment

The experienced ABRA QLD Training Team adopts a supportive, flexible and holistic approach in assessing competence against the units for each of the qualifications on our scope. All learners with ABRA QLD are offered the opportunity for recognition of pre-existing skills, knowledge and experience (RPL) towards their qualification upon enrolment.

Our assessment strategies cover a range of methods that may include written question and answers, reports, group activities, practical work, observation and discussion. Some courses require successful completion of a Vocational Placement as part of the assessment process.
