CHC30108 - Certificate III in Community Services Work

The Certificate III in Community Services Work can lead to a career as a Community Support Worker in the fields of community associations, accommodation Services, government and welfare agencies. The Certificate III in Community Services Work covers workers who work primarily in the community under direct supervision within defined guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related directly to the maintenance of an individual’s personal care and /or other activities of living. Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history, and to work with local communities in the provision of services.

Entry Requirements

There are no special entry requirements for this qualification. Students are required to have the ability to read and write simple documents and collect basic numeral data. It would be advisable to undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in this field. A senior First Aid Certificate is also recommended. You must also undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in Community Services.

To achieve a Certificate III in Community Services Work, students must complete thirteen units for this qualification, comprising:

Assessment

The experienced ABRA QLD Training Team adopts a supportive, flexible and holistic approach in assessing competence against the units for each of the qualifications on our scope. All learners with ABRA QLD are offered the opportunity for recognition of pre-existing skills, knowledge and experience (RPL) towards their qualification upon enrolment.

Our assessment strategies cover a range of methods that may include written question and answers, reports, group activities, practical work, observation and discussion. Some courses require successful completion of a Vocational Placement as part of the assessment process.

The Certificate III in Community Services Work will enable students to establish a career path to higher level Certificate IV in Community Services Work and also to higher industry roles.

Delivery
