CHC30308 - Certificate III in Home and Community Care

The Certificate III in Home and Community Care addresses the needs to work in client homes and other community settings under regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans.

Entry Requirements

There are no special entry requirements for this qualification however it is recommended students are 18 years of age and have a minimum sound level in English and Maths. Students are required to have the ability to read and write simple documents and collect basic numeral data. You must also undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in this field. A senior First Aid Certificate is strongly recommended.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

ABRA QLD supports all learners by profiling their individual language, literacy and numeracy skills prior to commencement and throughout the training and assessment process.

Qualification Requirements

To achieve a Certificate III in Home and Community Care, students must complete fourteen units for this qualification, comprising:

Assessment

The experienced ABRA QLD Training Team adopts a supportive, flexible and holistic approach in assessing competence against the units for each of the qualifications on our scope. All learners with ABRA QLD are offered the opportunity for recognition of pre-existing skills, knowledge and experience (RPL) towards their qualification upon enrolment.

Our assessment strategies cover a range of methods that may include written question and answers, reports, group activities, practical work, observation and discussion. Some courses require successful completion of a Vocational Placement as part of the assessment process.

The Certificate III in Home and Community Care will enable students to establish a career path to Certificate IV Home and Community Care and also to higher industry roles.

Delivery
