CHC40207 - Certificate IV in Retail Management

Certificate IV in Retail Management has been designed to develop the skills and knowledge of those employees who wish to work in a retail environment at managerial level. Those entering into a supervisory role would be responsible for coordinating/supervising other staff members.

Entry Requirements

Those wishing to gain entry into the Certificate IV in Retail Management must meet either of the following 2 entry requirements:

1. Be recognised as competent, through a recognised training program or recognition process, against the following units of competency from Certificate II in Retail:
SIRXIND001A Work effectively in a retail environment
SIRXCOM001A Communicate in the workplace
Plus the core units of competency from Certificate III in Retail:
SIRXCCS003A Coordinate interaction with customers
SIRXOHS002A Maintain store safety
SIRXRSK002A Maintain store security
SIRXSLS004A Build relationships with customer
OR
2. Have sufficient relevant retail employment experience to equate to the above or indicate likely success at this level of qualification. A job role that involved the demonstrated application of the above competencies over an extended period, typically in the order of two years, would be a satisfactory indicator.

Qualification Requirements

To achieve a Certificate IV in Retail Management, students must complete ten units for this qualification, comprising:

Assessment

The experienced ABRA QLD Training Team adopts a supportive, flexible and holistic approach in assessing competence against the units for each of the qualifications on our scope. All learners with ABRA QLD are offered the opportunity for recognition of pre-existing skills, knowledge and experience (RPL) towards their qualification upon enrolment.

Our assessment strategies cover a range of methods that may include written question and answers, reports, group activities, practical work, observation and discussion. Some courses require successful completion of a Vocational Placement as part of the assessment process.

Delivery
